Sudoku originally was using only numbers. However, after many years of many people playing it all around the world, people came up with many creative sudokus, and some of them are in the movie I made. On the internet, if you search up "types of sudoku", there will probably be like a few hundreds of them that many people made up. The ones I put up on the movie are quite common. In this page, I will be briefly explaining the different sudokus!
This is another type of sudoku, however, numbers 1-9 have to go into : each horizontal line, each vertical line, and in the jigsaw puzzles. There are 9 jigsaw puzzles, and each of them have 9 boxes. There has to be numbers 1 to 9 in all of the jigsaw puzzles. So when you are solving it, you have to check that you don't have the same number in the puzzle, as well as in the same line.
As you can see from the words, it is a sudoku using images or pictures.
Basically, it is using images instead of numbers. So the ones that go in each line have to become a picture. In this sudoku above, it is obviously a picture of a dragon. In the center, it should form the actually picture, not messed up. But in the others, it is messed up, and it will not form a proper picture. This is very difficult, as you have to think if the 9 pieces will actually make a picture. Some of them will be very similar, so it will be difficult to figure out which one is the most appropriate one. This sudoku, the X sudoku is not very different from the normal sudoku. It is just like solving a normal sudoku, but there is one more thing you have to be careful about. The lines going across, or diagonally also have to be from 1 to 9. In the picture above, the orange lines and the blue lines are all filled in with numbers 1 to 9. So you also have to be careful about that when you are solving it.
This is called a Word Sudoku, and it is a type of sudoku.
From the word itself, we can tell that it is a sudoku using words. Basically, we use words instead of the numbers, and we have to get all of the letters of the word in a line vertically, horizontally, and in the box. First, we have to figure out the key word. From looking at all of the letters, we have to figure out the word. In this sudoku above, the word is "POWDERING" . Let's refer to the very right line. We already have I,E,R,N. This means that the ones left is P,O,W,D,G. So now, we have to look at the boxes and the lines horizontally to figure out which letter goes in which box. |
